We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in September – we have always wanted to stay at this hotel, so paid extra for one of the nicer rooms. Sadly, we arrived on a day where there was a lot of cloud and rain – not the hotels fault! The hotel is situated right on the edge of Monument Valley, the design and architecture mean it does not impede the natural landscape and has really been designed well. There is ample free parking and check in was quick and easy. We were able to park near our room, so we only had a short trek with the bags, be aware there are no elevators. Our room was very spacious, nicely designed with the Navajo theme throughout and a nice sized bathroom. The room included all the needed amenities, including a fridge and safe (which sadly wasn’t working for us). The bed was very comfortable, but although the room was quiet, we could hear footsteps occasionally from above – but this did not overly disturb us as the ceilings were quite high. Air con was also included and was quiet.Sadly, our bathroom had several hairs, so we complained to front desk who ensured this would get cleaned and provided us a discount which was very good customer service. The main attraction for this hotel, is of course the view from your room/balcony – and believe me, this did not disappoint. The balcony was of good size with a table and chairs, and we spent a lot of time admiring the view, and the sunset. Sadly, the weather did not provide us with a sunrise, but we can only imagine how amazing this would be.We ate at the hotel restaurant that evening, the menu is quite limited, but the food was very tasty and service was good – the price also for the location was good. The following morning, we went for the complimentary buffet breakfast – choice again wasn’t huge, especially the hot buffet was very limited – but what we had was tasty – but please stop using plastic cutlery! There is no pool at this hotel due to the Navajo lifestyle, which we understood and were aware of before booking. The hotel includes a large Navajo gift shop with a huge array of items, many local or handmade. When staying at the hotel you get a 10% discount at the gift shop, and 2 complimentary bottles of water. We bought several items which we felt were reasonably priced. One major negative for this hotel – was that the gift shop can be VERY busy with tour buses arriving all the time which is understandable. However, due to the large amounts of people passing through - the toilets in the gift shop area were disgusting and really need overhauling and cleaning more frequently – as this was a major let down and not respective of how nice the rest of the hotel was.If you are looking for a special place to stay, this hotel really must be on your list, the view from your room is truly spectacular with a view that in our opinion is impossible to beat.

My husband and I decided to stay here last minute and had a room on the first floor overlooking the Valley. The views were exceptional. HOWEVER- DO NOT waste your money at the restaurant. When we walked in, there was a gentleman sending his dinner back. I had a feeling then that the quality was going to be questionable… My husband and I shared the chicken tenders basket. It was $25. I took one bite and spit it into my napkin. I think McDonald’s chicken nuggets are probably better quality “meat” than these were. The food had no flavor, was likely microwaved and fried, and was incredibly overpriced. I definitely recommend packing your own food, or swinging by the grocery store at Golding’s.Food aside, my husband and I loved having the balcony right at the valley. I’ve never stayed somewhere with that epic of a view. The beds were comfortable, towels were large (something I wish more hotels would do), and rooms were clean. The only other thing I would hope to remedy would be the moth ball smell as soon as you walk in the front door.If we come back, we’ll definitely stay at the view again!

You can't beat the view at The View Hotel! It was great to also have a balcony to sit out and look at the vista. Service was very good, room was clean and large. Parking was easy and there is an elevator as well as stairs. It was a full house, but did not feel crowded. Very well planned, you can have breakfast out on a veranda with continued spectacular views of the scenery. Many tours leave right from the parking area. Another meal alternative, especially for dinner, is to drive the short distance to Gouldings Lodge about 6 miles away.

We stayed in one of the second row cabins for one night and had a wonderful time. The reason you stay here is for the views which were beyond spectacular. I was worried our view wouldn't be good being a second row cabin but it was still wonderful. If you can book the first row of the cabin that would be even better with more privacy but I didn't book early enough! The staff was super friendly and the cabins were in great shape and well taken care of. We loved sitting out on the front porch in the evening and later to watch the sunrise. We had read so many poor things about the restaurant so we brought out own simple food which we were happy with.

We stayed here because it is the only place to stay right in Monument Valley, and it was a first class experience. Very well run hotel - all rooms have the same tremendous view of the Valley. The restaurant has great food and makes tribute to the Film Director JOHN FORD for his contributions to the Navajo Nation during the Great Depression. We had a great tour given personally to us by a 70 year old Navajo man who was filled with stories of the geology of Monument Valley and much more. A truly awesome experience, one that every American should experience! Bravo! We will never forget our time!

This modern hotel is perfectly located to enjoy a sunrise or sunset in this beautiful setting. All rooms have essentially the same view across to the Mittens and other natural sandstone monuments. A decent self-serve breakfast was provided. The gift store was well-stocked with native art and souvenirs. This is definitely the only place to consider staying when visiting Monument Valley.

If you choose to stay at The View, know what you're getting. You pay for the view outside your balcony and to stay inside the park for convenience. Each room has a view of the West Mitten, Merrick Butte and East Mitten. We were given the farthest room on the first floor, so our view was not as nice as a room near the center of the hotel. But it was still good. That said, be aware that nothing else about this hotel is special. We had read reviews about the overpriced and poor quality dinners served at the restaurant, so instead we dined there only for the continental breakfast that was included in the price of the stay. It was just OK with a bare minimum of food items, but the view was nice. For meals, we drove to a town called Kayenta, about 30 minutes south. Fast-options are there as well as other restaurants. Amigo Cafe was excellent. The hotel gave out vouchers for $20 off of Native arts and crafts in their gift shop, as well as two free bottles of water. The arts and crafts were already 50% off, so we got a nice Navajo-made vase with a sticker price of $63 for around $11.

The View Hotel is worth the stay for the best views. The rooms itself were on par, a little run down but very clean, and the staff aren't the most welcoming, but the views are what it's all about. You can see the iconic trio - East Mitten, West Mitten, and Merrick Butte - from your balcony, and I highly recommend watching the sunset, stars, and sunrise. They all offer unique and beautiful landscapes!

Returning customer, 3rd stay. Yet no bells and whistles that customer centric establishments might offer... The rooms looked already a little more worn than three years ago - did they not use the "Covid break" to upscale their property?!? The View has the monopoly here, so they can charge their upper range prices and still be booked out for the most part, you even have to book quite a bit ahead of time in order to still get a room. Considering the location / the view it's probably still worth the money. For my 50cents management could do more in order to have a customer really feel good about spending the money because they see the value for money aside from the splendid view. Don't expect too much from the restaurant, lower diner standard for relatively speaking humongous prices. The breakfast is very, very basic, so don't expect too much. Due to the layout of the rooms w/ the balconies every room is next to each other facing the valley. This means that a stay is easily disturbed if other guests do not adhere to a certain conduct, i.e. be quiet and low key in order not to disturb others watching the sunset or sunrise over the valley. Here too to my opinion the management could do more to remind their gusts of this otherwise self-evident conduct to make sure everyone leaves happy.

Rooms are a bit dated and could use some upgrades. Pillows are very hard.Restaurant has a very limited menu and prices are pretty high but food was good. The views are so fantastic! Literally sit on your balcony and take in the formations! You don't even need to do the drive around the valley!Only 1 small elevator for the entire hotel

Magnificent view! Room is nice and bathroom is very clean. We stayed in the Premium View Top Room and enjoyed sunset, sunrise, and stargazing right from our patio (photos were all taken from the patio). We agreed with other reviewers about the food…bring your own food if you can. But to us, the view along was completely worth staying a night here!
